We were most fortunate that John's Case Manager knew of your facility when we began our search for a new, more responsive care option for him several years ago when his physical issues became more problematic. I have very much appreciated the efforts you all have made to include family as well as John during care conferences since day one. John maybe physically disabled but is well able and encouraged by staff to actively participate in deciding about issues involving his care needs. This is awesome and clearly demonstrates, recognizes and embraces the notion that the resident should have a clear say in his or her care issues. It has taken some serious time and commitment from the staff (and John) over the past two years but the results have been significant. John is now walking to some meals where before he was limited only to his wheelchair. He interacts easily with staff and always has a joke ready to share at a moments notice... and staff encourages him to do so... In short, John appears to be thriving in Cornerstone's environment and I could not be more pleased! In addition I am ALWAYS welcomed when I visit. Staff consistently take the time to share John's current status with me and any and all issues of concern. I feel that I am always part of John's "team" and I truly appreciate the inclusiveness of your approach to resident care!
